Go outside and turn left down picturesque cobbled Henrietta Street to the famous 199 steps up to historic Whitby Abbey and St Mary’s church. Turn right and investigate Whitby’s East Pier and enjoy an adventure exploring the cliffs towards Robin Hood’s Bay fossil hunting as you go. Directly below is Tate Hill Sands where legend would have us believe Dracula jumped ashore as a dog running through the streets and up the 199 steps to the moors. Watch the seals swim in the harbour beyond in the misty early morning.
